I first knew about Terre D’Hermes advertised on Attitude magazine, over 10 years ago. Since then I’ve been using it. I met my partner in 2006 and it’s been his favourite too.
I guess in the beginning we were spraying it as normal, 2-3 times around our neck in the morning after the shower. And people used to say to us “you always have a lovely smell” (mostly female friends, or female supermarket assistants in the aisle). I think we’ve been over-doing it. I spray about 5-6 times. My partner is worse, he also sprays on his shirt, everytime he goes out (supermarket shopping). We can hardly smell it ourselves because we’re so used to it. I hope I’m not taking offence to the fellow commuters on the underground train. No one complements us about the smell nowadays, that indicates something. Either the smell is overpowering, or as we get older we’re producing the “old person’s odour” which blends into the Hermes, creating a rather unpleasant chemical reaction.
Anyway Terre D’Hermes is our most favourite fragrance – it is the only fragrance for us – but if you have any other men’s fragrances that you’d really recommend, please let me know – I’d love to know. I’ve tried so many famous brands in the department stores and haven’t really found anything else that inspires me personally…
