Where can we find the best Christmas gift ideas from? I want lots of things for myself, throughout the year continually. I want a new iPad, decent digital camera. Shoes - always. I want to get our entire bathroom done... But this is a time for giving. I must forget about shoes and cameras until the January sale, and the bathroom...put on hold indefinitely.

Could I please take this opportunity to slag off those novelty Christmas ties. You can buy those for yourself in your own good time, but as a present.....you give it to a man on a Christmas Day and when is he going to wear it? Possibly a mulled wine gathering later on that day, a Boxing Day mass... Possibly if he's committed to work between 27-31 Dec? Otherwise you do realise it's no use for the next 11 months? Or ever.
Like this 'beautiful' red tie from Marks & Spencer might be great to wear for every pre-Christmas party occasion (not), it would be a send-straight-to-Oxfam Christmas gift. I really don't understand those Christmas related words displayed in random fonts all over the tie, either. You've seen a pasta bowl with random words around the edge like "spaghetti - macaroni - delicious tomato - Roma - talgiatelle (sic)" Would we find that bowl in a shop and go, "Wow! What an authentic, thought-provoking Italian words written on the bowl! Let's get 5 of these, one as a spare and make an authentic macaroni cheese tonight!"

Just as I was about to publish this post, we just popped out for our weekly shopping and found these... Christmas chopping board. We did find loads of Christmas knit jumpers and, also ties in the shops, lots of Christmas ties are available in Amazon too, there must be good demands, so I should say no more! A musical Christmas tie for just over £2, plays Jingle Bells and a battery's included, ummm what a bargain.
Today I'd like to show you some nice small gift ideas for men, including good quality shaving & bath products, accessories, leather goods and fragrances.

Credit Card Wallet & Money Clip

Nocturna Credit Card & Money Clip (left two images)
If you only have one card to carry, this is ideal. Stainless steel & carbon fibre leather, size 100mm x 70mm.
When I go out in the evening, this will be ideal - I use my credit card for shop purchases as well as a contactless card for London underground travel. Clip a couple of notes, though I hardly use cash nowadays. Where do I store a change? Carry it in my pocket. It will go in the piggybank or on the stainless (unused) ashtray when I get home...
Also available directly from Dalvey site.
Insignia Credit Card Wallet & Money Clip (right two pictures)
It has 4 x card slots, size 110mm x 75mm. Available in several interior colours/designs. In fact this one's more ideal for me, as I have a couple of store cards and a debit card. I'm hoping all those supermarkets will start using the smartphone app soon.
Directly from Dalvey site, or some are available from Amazon.
Soprano Mens Country Wine Pheasant Aviator Double sided Silk Scarf

Double-sided silk scarf with pheasant design. 150cm x 25cm (excluding tassels). The wine colour will give a great accent on a grey or navy coloured suit.
100% silk.
Stratton Rhodium Plated Dots Tie Slide & Cufflinks

For some, they can never have enough cufflinks. With a matching tie clip and it's boxed. I like this classy, subtle design.
It says "Stratton of Mayfair is a heritage brand with over 150 years of history. During a large part of the 1900’s it became the epitome of class and prestige. Innovative patents gave additional credence to the company with a product quality that was well known and unrivaled within the market place. Its appeal often went beyond our own shores to far-flung export markets including the USA and Japan"
Small Christmas Gift Ideas For Men
I hope you like the above products. Have a great Christmas everyone. (*** The prices are updated in May 2017!)
"Jingle Bells?" - this version is unusual and camp. Try singing along with it, you'd need an oxygen cylinder for it. Apparently she was pregnant when she recorded it. Well done (1967)

I must say I would never say no to a nice wallet as a gift. I agree with you novelty items are never usually a good idea for men i personally find them a bit pointless. I love a good practical item and im also a gamer so any games or accessories for my system and im stoked.
Hi Matt, thanks for your comment & advice – games, I never thought of that, good idea! One of my “oldest” friends – he’s close to 70, is a gamer… I struggle to understand when he talks about his Xbox stuff. I must start to look into it. Thanks again,
Ray
What a great article on these Christmas ties, as well as your suggestions on your other gift ideas for men! As a man that has to dress up quit often you have given me some excellent possibilities of gifts that someone can get for me.
You have a very easy flowing and natural writing style that I’m sure will really pull in your audience. Great work and thanks again for the great gift ideas. Richard
Hi Richard,
Thanks for your comments & compliments! I think I’m just being greedy – things that I want, I’ll never get! And gifts for someone else is something else…you could spend entire December wondering what to get from where… Thanks again,
Ray
Thanks for this! Great suggestions! I’ve always had a hard time thinking of gifts for men, especially my dad and husband. For me, if it were for women, its so much easier. Guess it also helps to know what they want. Do they want something for travelling, sports, or something they can wear? Then from there, you can think of your options. 🙂
Hi Raquel,
Thanks for your comments – yes that’s true, gifts for opposite sex is so difficult! I really wouldn’t know what to give to female friends and end up giving champagne or flowers… I don’t want to give any cosmetics or clothing unless I know which exact product of exact brand she wants – which is very rare. Yes travelling goods or sport goods may be a bit easier, as you say.
Thanks for stopping by.
Ray
Nice ideas!
I like the colour of the tie!
It’s said that it’s a difficult to buy a gift for a person who already has everything. But then I think that the little things, little gifts we give can make someone really happy given at the right time.
Haha where did you find that version of Jingle Bells? It’s interesting!
Cheers,
Roope
Hi Roope,
Thanks for your comments! Yes you’re right, something little – can be anything – can make someone happy, I must remember that. I actually like the colour of the tie as well!
I didn’t know about the Jingle Bells by Barbra Streisand until a couple of years ago, I think I heard it on some old complication CD at work… There was another “risqué” Christmas song, going “Santa Clause got stuck in my chimney…” in that same CD…
Thanks again!
Ray
Hi there. Thanks for sharing these gift ideas, I think I’ll pass this on to my wife as she is still struggling with what to buy me!
I must say, thanks for including the version of jingle bells at the end of this article. Wow, I had never heard this before but you weren’t kidding about the oxygen! She was pregnant too? Wow!
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your comments – oh good, it’s so much easier isn’t it, if you can tell them what you want, or at least give them a hint!
Of all the Christmas songs, Jingle Bells was never my favourite song but this version has changed my mind now…!
Many thanks again for stopping by,
Ray
I have to agree with you, novelty gifts for grown ups are pretty pointless. I’d gracefully accept one with thanks if that’s what I’ve been bought, but I never buy them for people.
I love your choices of gifts. You have fantastic taste! The pocket watch is my favourite out of your gifts featured.
I look forward to the next post from The Stylo Police!
Sammi
Hi Sammi, thanks for your comments! Yes I like this pocket watch as well – I actually got it for my partner so it’s not been opened yet, but I have something similar for myself, and find it actually quite useful. You carry a mobile phone so it’s not an essential item, but it’s become a second nature to me now to use this to check the time.
Thanks again for stopping by!
Ray
Scarfs and ties are always a good thing to buy for a man during Christmas. It is also not that expensive and is very useful.
I personally do not use money clips because I am having a hard time storing my change. I think cologne can also make a great collection.
Hi, thanks for your comments, yes I agree, scarfs & ties are always “handy” as a present. And sure, not many guys are keen on money clips, if you want to use your cash (coins) effectively, you’d prefer a traditional wallet with coin pocket. I feel silly sometimes, such as when I need to pay £10.01 but all I have is notes and they only take cash!
