A travel wallet should be light, compact, easy to carry, and easily accessible - just by you, and definitely not accessible by pickpockets. It's actually quite hard to find one wallet that can hold all your valuables while on the move. Today I'd like to profile a new PU leather travel wallet for men and ladies that I think is very safe and secure, yet still very convenient and accessible (by just you!).

I'm obsessed with my personal security while traveling abroad. My mind is so security aware at all times that whether I'm actually enjoying the vacation or not seems irrelevant sometimes. I just "carry out" my vacations if I'm stressed at the same time about keeping all my stuff and myself safe!
That's probably because the valuables are all around me - passport in my messenger bag, phone in one pocket, wallet in the other, and where's the house key again? It's a constant stress normally about where I've got all my stuff. And the stress and worry if I actually misplace or lose something is overwhelming sometimes.
What Should a Useful Secure Travel Wallet Be?
Finding the perfect travel wallet is a bit like hunting for the holy grail of travel accessories. You want something that not only keeps your essentials safe but also feels so natural to use that you barely notice it's there. Let's talk about what makes a travel wallet not just secure, but super user-friendly too.
Perfect Size and Fit
The best travel wallet strikes a balance between being roomy enough to store all your must-haves and compact enough to carry around comfortably.
- Space for Everything: It should fit your passport, boarding pass, various currencies, and a few credit cards without bulging at the seams.
- Comfort: Whether it's a traditional fold, a slimline pouch, or a neck wallet, it should feel like it's barely there.
- Adaptability: A good wallet fits your travel style, whether you're a backpacker or a business flyer.

Ridicurrection
"Gosh, the wifi is so slow in here... I just clicked the link to verify it's me."
"Ma'am, I thought you were paying by cash for your coffee?"
"Yes, cash is in my secure wallet, which is in my secure purse. I need the password to open my purse, then I need to receive a one-time access code to unlock my password to open my wallet."
Security That Doesn't Shout
The main job of a travel wallet is to keep your valuables safe, but that doesn't mean it has to look like Fort Knox.
- Subtle RFID Blocking: Protects your cards and passport from electronic theft without adding bulk.
- Quality Closures: Zippers, clasps, or Velcro that stay shut when they're supposed to but are easy for you to open.
- Material Matters: Durable, water-resistant materials that can take a beating while keeping your valuables dry and intact.
Organization Makes Perfect
A well-organized travel wallet saves you from the dreaded dig-and-dump at the check-in counter or security line.
- Designated Spots: Specific places for different currencies, cards, and your passport make everything easy to find.
- Quick Access Areas: For those items you need at a moment's notice, like boarding passes or a bit of local currency.
- Keeping It Tidy: Enough separation to prevent everything from becoming a jumbled mess but not so much that it becomes a puzzle.
Did You Know?
- Brand Recognition: 70% of purchases are influenced by brand recognition, with consumers preferring companies known for quality and durability.
- Gender Preferences: Market analysis shows a 50/50 split in travel wallet preferences between genders, though design preferences vary.
- Customization Demand: 25% of consumers express a desire for customizable travel wallets to match personal style or specific travel needs.
- Technology Adoption: 20% of travel wallet users are interested in incorporating technology such as tracking devices into their travel wallets.
- Durability Expectations: On average, consumers expect their travel wallet to last at least 5 years, aligning with the frequency of international travel.
- Return Rates: Return rates for travel wallets are below 10%, indicating high consumer satisfaction with the right product.
RFID Blocking - Does It Matter?
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chip - typically on your latest EU passport, driving licence, and your Contactless Card - is widely used and so RFID hackers do exist. Hackers can scan through your pocket and steal your ID (called RFID skimming).
So RFID blocking wallets are added layer of security, giving peace of mind. But is it really necessary? Here are some downsides;
Might Be Overkill
The actual risk of RFID theft is relatively low. Most financial transactions now use secure chip technology, which requires physical contact to transfer data. This reduces the practical need for RFID protection.
- Limited practical applications
- Reduced relevance with chip technology
Additional Cost
RFID blocking wallets often come with a higher price tag compared to their non-blocking counterparts. Considering the low risk of RFID theft, this extra cost might not be justified for everyone.
- Higher prices compared to standard wallets
- Questionable value for the cost
Bulk and Design Limitations
Some users find these wallets to be bulkier due to the materials needed for blocking signals. This can make them less comfortable to carry and limit design options.
- Potentially bulkier than non-RFID wallets
- Possible compromise on design and comfort
"Dude, seriously? Just a grocery bag? All your clothes in there?"
"Carry-on only, my friend. Less is more. Nobody targets a guy with a shopping bag - less likely to be carrying cash to steal.
"Bold strategy. Hope your passport's not in there too."

Thanks for this! I travel long term, and am always very paranoid about the security of my valuables, especially the ones that I can easily misplace! I constantly have to check where I put a certain card or key, and make sure I have everything when I go out for the day! I’ve been a fan of bum bags…it screams “tourist!” and I usually enjoy preventing that if I can. I’ll be looking into this, thanks!
Hi Lauren, thanks for your comment. I must admit I have used bum bags many times in the past, and it is handy and convenient too. There are some posh ones available, too. It depends who wears it – you might get away with it but someone like me (50 year old man) with a bum bag really is a “tourist!” Covert Clip can be tightly attached close to the body and hidden underneath the clothing, I find it handy & convenient to carry around. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Ray,
At first, I thought you were referring to me, I’m just so like that, always worried about my belongings that I find myself not really enjoying myself. 🙂 And I always find myself checking to make sure I still have those house Keys! Kinda like what if someone bumps into me and my keys fall out, or that they just grabbed my wallet out of my back pocket.
Never relaxed enough to enjoy my vacation! This Covert Clip sounds ideal for relieving the stress of worrying myself silly. I’m sure glad I came across your article here.
Thanks for this great article!
Kim
Hi Kim, I’m glad to know I’m not the only one! As I said in the article the clips are really secure & strong, so the wallet stays clipped on however vigorously you move around (e.g. dancing in the club!) So I think it’s ideal for any leisure activities. Talking about the house keys, the trick is to put some string on to easily extract them, because the pockets are flat. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
