Moss Bros Sale Review and Christmas Gifts

Today I would like to show you some gift ideas from Moss Bros. They have almost 500 accessories listed as gift items, so I have picked only a few that I personally love, but please do have a look for more, I’ve attached a link towards the bottom of the page.

Earlier on I was reading Moss Bros’s long & interesting history. Established in 1851 (over 160 years ago) in London’s Covent Garden by a quality second-hand clothing dealer called Moses Moss.

43 years later Moses died and his two sons grew the business, started their famous hire service in 1897. During WW1, Moss Bros opened its own military department to supply uniforms. In 1924 under King George’s reign, they became the official clothing provider to the new labour government MP’s. Their first women’s department opened in 1947.

Since then, the company has grown steadily, acquiring other tailors and franchising during the 1980s-90s. Now it has 135 stores nationwide as well as 2 in Ireland.

Nowadays a lot of shops do click + collect services, but Moss Bros was one of the first. When I married my husband in 2010, we hired our suits from Moss Bros and, we were so impressed by their services – selections, swiftness and customer service support. I’d love to show the photo of our fantastic wedding suits, but unfortunately, we drank to death the night before and both of us look like an anglerfish (that’s my only regret), so I won’t.

And no, we didn’t wear a kilt, but this one on the right looks fabulous, doesn’t it? It’s a “Highland Prince Charlie” package, £95 for a 3-days hire.

Moss 1851 Black Leather Cashmere Lined Boxed Gloves

DKNY Black Double Buckle Belt Gift Set

This leather is good, because (1) Reversible – black on one side and brown on the other, (2) the DKNY buckle that I think looks good, which is removable and (3) cut to size, so it’s great for anyone you don’t know the waist size of.

2 x Easy Iron Shirt – £25 £20

A shirt, on the other hand, is very difficult to give as a gift unless you know the size and how unfussy the man is. I just wanted to show Moss Bros don’t just sell a range of white & pastel stripy work shirts but has quite a few funky shirts as well.

Both are 60% Cotton 40% Polyester, was £25, now £20, and they offer 3 shirts for £50.

The description says “Wear open collared or add one of our Moss Esquire classic ties. The easy-care fabric and taped arm seams means that only a minimal run over with the iron is needed to keep you looking smart throughout the day with low maintenance. Formerly known as Dehavilland.”

Ted Baker Navy Satchel Bag

Great for both work and at the weekends, the navy colour is quite unusual which I really like about. With adjustable shoulder strap, main: 100% Polyamide; trim: 100% Polyurethane.
