When did we start exchanging gifts on a Valentine's Day? It has always been a special day among gay lovers too, but I can't remember exchanging anything rather than just cards with any of my ex-boyfriends. I first met my husband over 10 years ago, and now every year, comes mid-January I seem to Google "Mens Valentines Gifts" to get some ideas. Which is a good thing. I love looking for gifts, especially to someone I'm in love with.
We know each other well, and being a same-sex couple, choosing a gift to each other is probably a little easier than a straight couple? I'm only guessing here - clothing size for instance, I can actually try it on myself and see. In our case we're the same size, therefore if it doesn't fit him or he doesn't like it, I can have it 
. Unlike for women, jewellery is never on the list. Aftershave, grooming products or any "man stuff"... "device" and stuff, I know what's good for me, and what's good for me can be a great gift for him!
"Romantic" Present?
Being romantic, or choosing a romantic gift, can often be perceived as feminine, but of course it never has to be. You know, typical images that commercialised Valentine's campaigns use... Red, pink, red rose, heart-shaped everything, and pink champagne... Unless your man is into these things, you won't need any of those for him. Do you agree? They're for women, i.e. if you are a woman, these are really for you. Unless your man likes these things!
I tend to buy anything that I missed for the Christmas just passed. For example this year, my husband needed a mini DIY tool kit but I never gave one to him for Christmas, so I've bought it for the Valentine's. That's really just a household item, isn't it. But he's also got his favourite Terre D'Hermes, and a box of heart-shaped chocolates (that's consumable). His card is a typical red lovey-dovey Valentine's - I couldn't find anything not red. So overall, does it sound like a decently-balanced package to give on a Valentine's Day?
