Last December I was looking for last minute Christmas gift for men, it feels like I've never stopped looking since. I've bought many good ones, seen a few bad ones too. A pack of 4 x Christmas disposable cigarette lighters, marked "perfect as a stocking filler!" Each lighter has a different design - Santa, Snowman, etc. I would like to believe lighters are generally for adults, so making one as a stocking filler - get a Christmas stocking for your spouse or adult family member - is a sweet idea to start with. But then it's not open until the Christmas Day, meaning the lighter will only be used to relight the festive candles and perhaps for the Christmas pudding flambé. Anyway a pack of 4, great for a family of chain smokers for sure.
So here are random selection of small gifts for men - that you can hopefully get between now and the Christmas Eve.

Amazon Echo Dot (2nd Generation)
Already introduced in my post a while ago, but Amazon Echo Dot definitely one of the handiest Christmas gift. Wireless speaker with a voice recognition function really is easy and fun for everyone.
Choice of Black or White.
Polaroid Snap Instant Digital Camera

This 10-Megapixel camera has been around for a while. It can be either used as a Polaroid camera or store images in SD card (not included), or both at the same time. As a classic Polaroid, it prints out 2x3" prints under one minute, using ZINK printing® technology, it only requires a special paper to colour-print without using inks. Prints in full-colour, black & white or vintage sepia.
Some argue over the usability because it has no screen. But this is a retro-style camera, also has a printing facility and keeps the size in compact (12cm x 7.5cm x 2.5cm). It's really for fun-making.
Available in Black, Blue, Pink, Red, White or Purple.
Oh So Pretty: Punk in Print 1976-1980

It was published in October 2016, it's a great book for us who lived the age of punk. Over 500 pages of gig posters, flyers, badges and story about music, venues, art and the political issues. Even my partner who was only into disco and David Essex showed interest. It will make a great nostalgia reading especially for us, and good for young ones to learn what the punk subculture was like back then. I'd like to say for men and women but it wouldn't exactly make a great Christmas present for a lady, would it? Unless you know she likes punk.

Co-written by Toby Mott, who is an artist, designer, collector and punk historian, and Rick Poynor who is a writer, critic, curator and lecturer. Paperback.
Breville Coffee Express Personal Coffee Machine (500ml Bottle)

This is a very handy tool for a busy filter coffee lover - take a fresh coffee with you to work instead of visiting Costa on the way. Switch it on and it only takes less than 5 minutes to brew. It comes with double-walled BPA free bottle (=no chemical producing plastic) which keeps warm for up to a couple of hours. I personally enjoy filter coffee more than milky frothy coffee such as latte, and also like to drink slowly, therefore find this machine very useful.
(Sorry, it's no longer available - as of 2018)
Cufflinks from Tyler & Tyler

Tyler & Tyler produces awesome cufflinks and keyrings , you'll find many hand-enameled pairs with unique designs.
Vintage Shaving Set by Haryali London

You know what, a man who looks after himself would be delighted to receive a gift like this, and at least give it a try during the Christmas break. Unless he is super-particular about the kit he must use. The set contains a straight razor, leather hanging strop with a small tin of strop paste (10ml) and a badger hair brush.
Great choice Ray. As I’m writing this in December 2017…. I see you’ve updated some products and I’m intrigued. I’ll definitely get a shaving set for my hairy partner lol. He’s been using a cheap old kit for years & years. I love the personal coffee machine also. Good job Ray, cheers. Danny
Hi Danny, thanks for your comment. A shaving set for your ‘hairy partner’ for Christmas, great idea 🙂 So has my husband actually, he’s been using the same brush and a cheap shaving cream from a supermarket (which he thinks is the best) for many years. The handy coffee machine is very useful, I use it daily now and great for travelling too. Thanks for visiting!
