Webtalk is a new social media networking service. I know there's always a new social media network, and we've had enough of social media network. Webtalk is brand new, and no one knows if it's going to make it big or flop in the future. But there's no reason why you shouldn't give it a try just because it's relatively unknown. It's a social media, it's free. In fact there are a couple of reasons why I'm recommending Webtalk to you. Because;
- the network is currently open by invitation-only, and
- you might have a chance to earn commission by referring others.
So here's an invitation link to my readers - it's totally free, and free forever (unless you want to take up some premium services in the future).

Webtalk - What Does It Do?
Webtalk allows you to 'manage' your network and newsfeeds. For example with X or Facebook, you follow or make friends with motley crew of people. Friends, coworkers, clients, your mentors, all different circles and different professions. For that exact reason, I rarely post anything on my Facebook timeline. I feel my fellow internet marketers don't need to know about my day-to-day personal events, and my marketing-related posts would be irrelevant to my ex-colleagues who are in accountancy field.
With Webtalk, you can separate your contacts in different groups (or 'teams'). So each time you publish your post, you can choose who to post it to. All your connections or only to a specific group or people.
Having said that, most of other social media networks allow you to own multiple accounts and switch over from one to another according to the type of contacts. So you might not feel this feature is particularly useful or necessary.
What's It Like?

Webtalk is still at a beta version stage and there are still a lot of things to be improved. You might find the dashboard pretty bare. Also because it offers a referral commission incentives, most of the users who publish posts are affiliate marketers. So if you join now purely to connect with friends, you might feel deflated by it.
Right now Webtalk is focused on pretty much business/professional oriented environment like LinkedIn. Looks like it, at least. But since it allows you to have personal connections, I think it's interesting to see where it's going and what kind of uniqueness it's trying to create in the future. The number of LinkedIn users is said to be like 500 million. Webtalk as of now (September 2018) is just over 350,000. Still growing!
As I just said, you might find your dashboard a little bare & boring. There's no proper "Help/FAQ" section. There are some videos to keep the users up to date, but they tend to be rather long and not so straight-to-the-point. If you can't find what you want, you can ask me a question. Or ask RJ Garbowicz, the founder/CEO/CPO guy, he is very helpful.
If You Are An Affiliate
If you invite someone to Webtalk and that person spends on the advertising and premium feature packages, you'll receive 10% of it. Also there are a couple of other commission incentives (smaller percentages) - if that person buys something via Webtalk and job-related services. These services have not started, so the scheme is not so clear yet.
There's also a 5-tier referral MLM commission scheme, but it only applies to certain qualified members. They have to have testimonials (recommendations) by other members displayed, they have to be able to train others, etc. These rules have only come up in the past few days, so they may change (things only approve after tests & trials!)
So it is possible for anyone to have this social media network as the main source of income. If you're interested, the affiliate platform is not just ready yet, but you can start referring others right away. When it's all up & running all your tracking record will be transferred.
It’s too early for anyone to join, in my opinion. There’s nothing’s there. Apart from desperate internet marketer trying to pull referrals. I’ll take it more seriously when it becomes as big as Facebook otherwise no point socializing in unknown community.
Hi Dexter, thank for your comment. I do agree with you about internet marketers, there are full of them, but they are the ones who create buzz in order to help the network grow. We’ll see how exciting it will be (or flop… we never know!) in the next few months!
Hi Ray, I’ve never heard about Webtalk, I’m currently looking for a job right now. I have an account with Linkedin and it doesn’t really help. Do recruitment companies advertise on Webtalk? If so I’ll be happy to join and start looking around. Thanks. Joe
Hi Joseph, I too have an account with LinkedIn, and in fact I have over 7,000+ connections but there are a LOT of network marketing invitations. People are desperate to get me into whatever the scheme that they’re promoting for commission. I have no option but to ignore them all. LinkedIn doesn’t really work for me for that reason, despite of the number of connections!
Webtalk is really new, it’s a beta version stage, so there are not many advertisements as yet. It’s not too early to join, you can at least make an account and see what’s all about. Thanks for your comment, and good luck with your job search!
I signed up now and what do I do? I sent invitation to all my friends but none of them are interested. It doesn’t have anything to excite me really. Maybe in the future.
Hi Olivio, Webtalk said a few days ago that their email system wasn’t previously delivered properly, so that may be part of the reasons you haven’t seen any reactions from your friends (?) No, nothing much to excite you right now because it’s still at beta stage. Hopefully it will have a lot more great features when it goes live fully to the public. Thanks for your comment!
Yeah, like everyone else’s saying…not much going on there. Is there a promise that this is going to be the next big thing? No fun whatsoever. Just posting updates. Even LinkedIn (I hate it) is 100 times more interesting comparing to this one.
Hi Kieran, it’s still a beta version so we’ll see how interesting Webtalk becomes in the future. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
