Men’s clothing company The Idle Man is offering a free travel guide book to download. This e-book has over 320 pages, covering almost 80 cities, 28 countries around the World. Packed full of “where to go” information as well as hundreds of stunning photos. Even if you’re not planning to go anywhere, it’s worth browsing.
Free Travel Guidebook – Download
You can download it from The Idle Man’s page here (*** Sorry, the link is no longer available.) – enter your name & email address and off you go! There are high-res versions or low-res versions to choose from and, high-res if mighty 48Mb in size.
Each city is guided by a variety of professionals – musicians, DJs, actors and writers, making the guidebook The Idle Man’s own. As this book is issued primarily for the Idle Man’s customers in the UK, I’m particularly fascinated by the London section. Whereas a lot of places in Europe in this book are famous sightseeing spots I’ve visited in the past, the London section highlights a lot of the coolest places outside West End – Clapham, Brixton, East End… recommended by house DJ’s and dance music producers (young people!)
So UK guide starts from London, followed by Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton, Leeds, Bristol, Leicester, Portsmouth, Cardiff and Glasgow. Yes my mouse scrolled right down to Portsmouth – is anything out there??? (Yes there is, have a look & see)
Schott NYC, famous for the original leather biker jacket (see my post from last month Leather Motorcycle Jackets For Men) is guiding through New York City. US section is great, shops and places are quite randomly selected out of thousands in each city. So is Canada, including Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto. Sydney, Perth and Auckland are highlighted in the Australasia section.
What To Wear
Of course this travel guidebook is issued by a great clothing store, the last section “My City – What To Wear” is a little guide to all occasions as well as a link to the suggested clothing range.
- Escape To The Cold – parkas and boots
- The Tropics – loafers, sunglasses
- Romantic Break – clean-look jackets and Converse
- Business Trip – formal clothing
- Lad’s Holiday – jeans, shirts, watches
