Faux Leather For Men – Cool?

What do you think of faux leather for men? It may not last as long as real leather, but faux leather is cheaper, light and easy to wear. Okay let me be clearer - what do you think of vegan leather for men? Whether to wear leather or not for some of us is a big issue for animal rights point of view. So far I have introduced and recommended many leather items in this site. And now here's me, 50 years old man saying "by the way, I'm hesitant to wear real leather myself because I care about animals..." How credible is that?

The truth is, the issue has always been at the back of my mind. I stopped eating meat and fish 30 years ago for animal welfare reasons, hugely influenced by Chrissie Hynde and Morrissey. But I couldn't avoid - I couldn't afford to avoid - leather shoes and belts in those days, you know what I mean. Remember, no internet. I actually went through local telephone directory books, looked everywhere for shops who would sell decent looking fake leather shoes for less than £20 a pair. My budget was too tight and I needed to wear leather shoes for the office. Staring at a photo of the latest brand-new boyband in Smash Hits magazine I thought, sod it. "I'm so happy to be vegetarian, but will just have to continue to wear leather no matter what."

At the beginning of my retail business career, I avoided at all costs to sell leather products. Soon I realised there were too many stuff with great designs in the world, happened to be made with leather. It was too difficult for me to ensure each product was ethically produced in terms of animal welfare perspective. It wouldn't be impossible, but would be impracticable. In this site I've already recommended so many leather items, but that's the reason why I was planning to do some faux leather pages. This is the first one for, probably many to follow in the future.

This waist-length motorcycle jacket with a stand collar and belt, comes in many colours including yellow and red. Lining with 100% Polyester. 

BOLF “Feifa Fashion” Men’s Faux Leather Jacket

This is another jacket with stand-up collar, made of 70% polyurethane, 30% polyester and it's crease-resistant. Two side/chest pockets and inside pocket. 

Latex Leather Pants

I had to display these synthetic leather trousers, though I could never wear this type on my chunky legs...!  With zipped front and press stud.

Lace Up Biker / Combat Ankle Boots

These boots with synthetic leather with padded collar have a rubber sole and textile insole. 4 cm (1.5 Inches) heel height. Choice of Black or Brown.
