Affordable Burberry Watches Review

Burberry watches are classy, inspiring and breathtaking. Every single item in Mens Burberry Watch Collection page has an impressive design, but it’s a little expensive for some. Today I’d like to pick ones listed in Amazon which are affordable and check out one by one. The cheapest range is around £165, can be still pricier than other famous brands’ but the stylishness is premier, so I thought they’re worth looking at.

History of Burberry and its Classic Check

Established in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, a former draper’s apprentice opened his own store in Basingstoke, Hampshire when he was 21. By 1870, the business was particularly successful in developing outdoors attire. Its first London store was opened in 1891, in the Haymarket, off Piccadilly. The iconic Equestrian Knight logo was created in 1901.

The famous Burberry Check is also known as “Haymarket Check”, was first used as a lining for its trench coat in 1924. The business was family-controlled until 1955, when taken over by Great Universal Stores, and thrived throughout the Swinging Sixties by becoming the luxury British clothing brand. It was 1967 they started to use Burberry Check widely on its own scarves, luggage, umbrellas, and watches.

By the beginning of this century, cheaper counterfeit versions of this classic check pattern had become so popular, they were associated with chavs – I do remember 10 years ago, fake Burberry-ish scarves were found everywhere in market stalls in this country. Although Burberry never disgraced the trend, by 2006 they reduced the use of the check on its products by 90%.

Now Burberry has more than 500 stores in over 50 countries worldwide and is in no doubt a proud British luxury fashion house to this day.

Burberry Men’s Heritage BU9020

This Swiss Quartz watch has a brown dial and brown leather strap and water-resistant to 50m (you wouldn’t swim with it).

Case diameter 38mm, case thickness 8mm – so it’s not too chunky. With buckle clasp.

Burberry Men’s Trench Chronograph Brown Chronograph Dial Watch

This stunning looking one is my favourite. Case diameter 42.5mm, thickness 12mm, 875g in weight. With a “deployant” push button clasp. With chronograph sub-dial features. Water-resistant to 100m.

Burberry Sport Chronograph Grey Dial Blue Rubber Mens Watch BU7714

It’s a little bigger and chunkier than others, case diameter 44mm, thickness 14mm. With chronograph sub-dial features.

As well as the blue version above, there are red, white and black available.

White version to the left, which is also my favourite, because the name logo “Burberry” across the band is beautifully contrasted against the colour white and, also the contrast between the black face and the white rubber. Goes well with formal clothing as well as casual.

Here is the black version. All four are in the same size & dimension, and water-resistant to 100m.

Water resistance by the way is a measurement to prove the leakage test result, it doesn’t mean the watch is ideal for a submarine dive. If covered in mud, it can be quickly rinsed off with water for sure (or baby/pet spew, ewww)

A qualifying diving watch would have passed various other tests, according to Wikipedia, including safety margins such as rapidly changing water pressure, tightness and temperature of the seawater.

This one’s pricier, with sapphire crystal with stainless steel band, it has a very impressive look. Case diameter 38mm, case thickness 10mm. With chronograph sub-dial features.

Burberry Men’s Watch Heritage BU1361

The one on the right has a case diameter of 40mm, case thickness 11mm. Leather with hook/pin buckle clasp. The silver dial has a crystal-clear classy look. With chronograph sub-dial features. Water-resistant to 50m.

Burberry Men’s Watch Heritage BU1383

This one’s very similar to the above, case diameter 400m, slightly thicker (12mm). Very subtle, brown face as well as brown leather band. With chronograph sub-dial features and hook-buckle.

Burberry Gents Silver Tone Steel Bracelet Watch BU9000

Simple, classy look, stainless steel, case diameter 38mm, case thickness 8mm.

Burberry Men’s BU1757 Heritage Gold-Plated Stainless Steel Gold Chronograph Dial Watch

And if you are a fan of gold watches… With chronograph sub-dial features. Case diameter 40mm, case thickness 10mm, stainless steel, with push button deployant clasp.

Burberry Men’s BU1570 Nova Check Black Leather Strap Watch

The last one is a square silver face with black leather strap. Case diameter 33mm, cast thickness 10mm. Water resistant to 50m. Simple and beautiful.
